5% vs 20% window tint — which should you actually pick?
Should I choose 5% or 20% window tint?
5% (limo) gives the most privacy but is the hardest to see out of at night. 20% still looks dark from outside and is easier to live with when reversing. Both are legal on rear side windows and the rear screen in the UK; front side windows must let at least 70% of light through.

How different do they look?
5% blacks the glass out completely. 20% still reads as dark from outside but lets through noticeably more light from inside.
Which is better for night driving?
20%. If you often reverse on unlit streets and don't have a reversing camera, that extra light through the mirror is the practical choice.
Can I mix shades?

Are they legal?
